FAQs

What should we wear?

We recommend wearing simple colour blocked clothes. Try to avoid thin stripes, large logos or images on your outfits. The less distracting the clothes, the more focus we can bring to you, your family and the beautiful personalities you have.

How many hours do you recommend we need?

There’s a couple of factors to consider, however we find that the one-hour session is generally best suited for families with young children. If you have a larger family and are after more photos, then the two-hour session may suit you better. We can go at a pace that works with the children and pop in a count of snack breaks to keep them going. You may also want to look at our subscription service which can break the shoots down into more achievable blocks for the family and give you lots of opportunities to capture those precious moments.

What’s the turnaround time?

Turnaround time is two weeks from the shoot date.

What’s your booking process?

All bookings require a 25% deposit and full payment one week before the shoot. Where shoots are booked a month beforehand, the full invoice will be issued.

Can we reschedule?

You sure can! We understand that life doesn’t always go according to plan so we are more than happy to reschedule. As long as you give us at least 48 hours notice, we can re-book another time.

Is there a limit to how many people we can have in the shoot?

You can have up to 10 people in your family photoshoot. Please note that the more people you have, the less coverage we will get of each person. If you are looking at having grandparents join the shoot, you may want to extend to a two-hour shoot so we can cover a bit more.

What happens if it rains?

If you’re booked in for an outdoor shoot and it rains we can reschedule.

How can I prepare for my at home shoot?

We love capturing families in their natural environments and in places where they feel “at home”. The only consideration when thinking about shooting at home is the amount of available natural light and number of locations we can use on the shoot. It’s also possible to do a mix of both where time permits.

We are really shy and don’t like being in front of the camera. How can you help?

Building a relationship with you and your family goes a long way when it comes to making you comfortable in front of the camera. We love making meaningful connections with those we capture and do our best to allow you to let down your guard, be yourself, and to focus on having the best time you can with your loved ones.

What is your subscription service?

We’re glad you asked. Imagine being able to look back over the first five years of your child’s life and see their growth and development — and all beautifully shot from the same point of view with the same photographer who has watched them grow alongside you. TFAR Subscriptions allow you to document those precious early years of your child's growth and have this incredible season of your lives captured forever through a series of shoots. TFAR loves building strong relationships with our families and we'd love to come along for your ride.

Do you offer prints?

We do! We can offer a range of printing options. Please get in touch so we can let you know what we offer and provide a customised quote based on your needs.
